UPSC COMBINED MEDICAL SERVICES (CMS) EXAMINATION:

UPSC CMS exam is a very competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for the  recruitment of the various medical services and posts in the Government of India. It is conducted annually and it also provides a great opportunity to the medical graduates to join the various prestigious central government health services.

Eligibility criteria:

Candidates willing to apply for UPSC CMS exam must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

1. Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India, or a citizen of Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India possess, or be a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India Are.

2. Age Limit: Candidate must have to be at least 21 years of age and must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 1st January of the examination year. There is age relaxation for reserved categories candidates.

Exam Pattern:

UPSC CMS exam consists of two stages:

1. Computer Based Examination (Part-I):
This is the first stage of the exam and consists of two papers.

Paper-I: General Medicine and Paediatrics (250 Marks)
Paper-II: Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, and Preventive and Social Medicine (250 marks)

The duration of both the papers is of 2 hours each. The questions are of Multiple Choice Type (MCQs).

2. Personality Test (Part-II)
